Dr. William B. Robison to Discuss His New Book:
"The Tudors on Film and Television”
If you enjoyed Showtime’s “The Tudors,” do not miss Dr. William B. Robison’s discussion of his new book, "The Tudors on Film and Television: Early Modern Monarchs, Modern and Post-Modern Movies.” The program will be offered from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, at the Slidell Branch, 555 Robert Blvd., Slidell, 985-646-6470 and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, at the Covington Branch, 310 West 21st Ave., Covington, 985-893-6280.
In the book, Robison and his co-author Sue Parrill delve into the facts and fabrications presented in film and television about the royal family. A companion website for the book, www.tudorsonfilm.com, has also been created.
Robison is a Professor of History and Head of the Department of History and Political Science at Southeastern Louisiana University where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on British and Early Modern European History. He holds a Ph.D. in History from L.S.U. Robison has written and edited numerous works on the history of early modern England, film history, and popular culture.
The programs are free and open to the public. Registration is recommended. Dr. Robison will sign and sell his book after the presentation. Light refreshments will be available.
