Ernest and Celestine

St. Tammany Parish Libraries have an extensive collection of books and movies readily available to check out to patrons of all ages.  Here is but a peek of what we have in our catalog!

Ernest & Celestine is a film based on Gabrielle Vincent's book series of the same name.  This Academy-nominated movie takes place between two different communities--the bears who live on the surface and the mice who dwell in the pipe systems below.  When the struggling musician bear Ernest crosses paths with the orphaned and destitute mouse Celestine, they strike up a friendship that shakes the status quo of their worlds.

This is a fun and gently drawn movie made with a combination of Flash animation and watercolor backgrounds, and it is a pure delight to watch.  The friendship between the two main characters is so genuine, you will be rooting for them throughout the movie.

Ernest & Celestine is available on DVD and can be streamed through Hoopla.  This film is rated PG for some scary moments.

We also have a couple titles from the original Ernest and Celestine book series available for check-out.
