Learn to Fight Against Fake News

by Noelle Williams, Reference Coordinator

In a world filled with so much information, it can be difficult to tell what’s real and what’s fake. It’s easy to be deceived by false news stories, online scam artists and shady social media posts.

That's why reference librarian, Sonnet Ireland, will be teaching a class called "Fact or Fake: Learn to Tell Real Information from the Scams." Ireland will share how you can assess information to determine if it is truthful and provide tips on how you can stop fake information from spreading. The class will be held from 2-3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11,  and from 10-11:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 12th at the Slidell Library, 555 Robert Blvd.

Interested? Online registration is currently available for April's class.Have questions? Contact Sonnet Ireland at (985) 646.6470 ext 104.
