Il•lus•trate Programs Celebrate Art of Illustration

The Library is partnering with the St. Tammany Art Association and their spring show titled Illus•trate to celebrate the art of illustration with children and teens. The Library will offer three programs featuring authors and illustrators from the STAA's exhibit at the Covington Library, 310 W. 21st Ave.

Il•lus•trate: Story and Craft for Preschoolers at Covington Library

A story and craft featuring the book The Book that Wanted to be Red by Jerica Guillory​. from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 21. After Ms. Guillory shares her book, children will make a craft led by Ms. Gumbo. Register online or call the Covington Library at (985) 893-6280.

Please note that Fruit Loop cereal will be used in the craft. Please inform the librarian of any food allergies at least one week in advance. We are happy to make accommodations for you. 

Il•lus•trate: Story and Craft for Big Kids at the Covington Library

A story and craft featuring the book A Pig Tale by Jerica Guillory and illustrated by Vivian Broussard from 1:30 PM – 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 21. Register online or call the Covington Library at (985) 893-6280.

Il*lus*strate: Video Game Illustration Workshop for Teens (12-18) at the Covington Library

Bring your creativity and join special guest game designer and illustrator Shiho Pate as she leads this one-time workshop on the process of designing a home screen for a video game, including the main character, play button, background and logo at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28. Register online or call the Covington Library at (985) 893-6280.

Pate, an illustrator for Cartoon Network’s online games, is one of five illustrators from around the country participating in il-lus-strate, an exhibit on view from April 14 to May 26 at the St. Tammany Art Association as part of their Spring For Art. No food will be served. Children ages 9 and under may not be left unattended at the St. Tammany Parish Library.
