WANTED: Teen Summer Reading Volunteers!

The STPL Teen Department is now accepting applications for teen volunteers at the library this summer!

WHO: Teens who have completed the 7th grade and are at least 13 years of age.

WHAT: Volunteer for 2 hrs./day,  up to twice a week, for the library’s Summer Reading Program.  You will work at the registration desk, help with events and assist the Youth Services Librarians.

WHEN: You must be able to volunteer for at least 3 weeks between May 23 - July 14.

WHERE: At the Causeway, Covington, Madisonville, Mandeville, Slidell or South Slidell Branch Libraries.

WHY: It’s fun, you’ll meet new friends, it will look good on your college transcript and you’ll get to hang out in a cool place learning mad skills.

HOW: Fill out an application (pick one up at any library branch or print it ) and return it to the branch where you wish to volunteer no later than Saturday, MAY 5.  The librarian will call you upon application approval to schedule an orientation.

RETURNING Veteran Volunteers and NEW Volunteers must attend one of the volunteer orientations  Parents of NEW Volunteers are requested to attend the first 20 minutes of the orientation.
