October is TeenTober at the St. Tammany Parish Library!
Since its launch in 2019, this nationwide celebration has given libraries an opportunity to put teens in the spotlight and showcase all the ways they can learn, create, connect, explore, and have fun at the library. And, of course, it’s the perfect time to celebrate one of our favorite things: reading just for the fun of it!
Throughout the month, the St. Tammany Parish Library will be celebrating with creative programs, exciting activities, and plenty of opportunities for teens to try something new. The department offers innovative services for teens year-round, helping them learn new skills, explore their interests, discover new passions, and find their place at the library—and beyond.
What Can Teens Look Forward to This Month?
TeenTober is packed with fun, freebies, and plenty of ways for teens to get involved at STPL!
- Something for Everyone! October is jam-packed with teen events, including Game On, D&D, AniManga Club, DIY crafts, Volunteer Club, Spooktaculars, and more! See and register for Teen events in October here.
- Lost Your Library Card? No Problem! Teens can get a free replacement library card at any STPL branch throughout the month of October.
- Show Off Your Creativity! Teens can enter our Bookmark Art Contest by submitting their original design by October 31. Twelve winning designs will be professionally printed and distributed as bookmarks at all STPL branches! Winners will be announced in mid-November. - Grab a Free Tote! Need a bag for your books, schoolwork, or everyday stuff? Teens can pick up a free STPL tote bag at any branch while supplies last.
- Spooky Swag! Teens can snag special TeenTober Spooky Edition bookmarks and stickers at any STPL branch while supplies last.
