by Noelle Williams, Reference Coordinator

Want to learn something new? Maybe you’d like to build up your business know-how, master a second language or conquer code? School is in session at the library!

The St. Tammany Parish Library now offers Gale Courses. With over 350 different courses, you’re bound to find something that piques your interest. All courses are held entirely online, led by expert instructors and, best of all, are free with your library card.

You can select from a variety of personal and professional development courses that cover the following topics:

  • Business, including human resources, management, and marketing
  • Computer and technology (beginner to advanced)
  • Life skills, from personal finance to parenting
  • Health and wellness
  • Continuing education credits

Classes are six weeks long and new lessons are released twice a week—so you can keep up or catch up at your own pace. A new round of courses starts every month. Certificates are provided for students who pass the class. Eager to get started? New courses start on September 11th! To sign up, visit Gale Courses on our website. You’ll need your library card to complete the registration process.

Of course, library users can also visit the library each month to take research and technology classes in-person! You can visit our event calendar to sign up for classes. Happy learning!
