Royals by Rachel Hawkins

Daisy is a quirky sixteen-year-old girl from Florida whose older sister just happens to be in a relationship with the Crown Prince of Scotland. Paparazi are forcing Daisy and her family into the relative safety of a castle in Scotland, forcing her to cancel all of her summer plans with her best friend. On top of that, she now has to change her look to be more “royal.”

Beauty Queens by Libba Bray

Fifty contestants for the Miss Teen Dream pageant are on their way to a beach paradise to parade in front of cameras, but then their plan crashes. Alone on a desert island with very little make-up or accessories, the contestants must now scavenge for food. Things turn more sinister as they realize that they are not alone on the island after all.

Full of humor and pesky inconveniences like a food tray embedded in one of the contestant’s forehead. This book is a great laugh from cover to cover. An Abundance of Katherines by John Green

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

After graduating from high school, Dimple plans on attending a summer program for aspiring web developers before heading off to college.
