Are you taking a vacation this summer? Are you going to be riding in a car for hours with nothing to do? Are you tired of hearing the phrase, "Are we there yet?"
Look no further! The library is the pit stop you need to make before you go on your vacation! We have plenty of things to do in the car.
1. "Seeking for Things" Books
This is a category that encompasses different kinds of books including...
-I Spy books,
-Look and Find books
-Magic Eye books
We have multitudes of different titles in each of these categories. A favorite is Let's Find Momo, where a photographer and his border collie trek across the continent of North America and take wonderful pictures so you can spot him.
Listed here are only two examples, but we also have plenty where that came from!
2. Activity Books
These are great examples of things kids can do in the car. Don't forget to make copies at the library before you leave for your trip! There are plenty of ideas in these!
I Don't Care If We're There Yet
3. Audiobooks
We also have plenty of childrens' audiobooks if your car has a CD player! Our collection includes classics and newer items!
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
4. Books That Teach About Maps
This one is a great start for teaching kids about maps. Some kids love to play navigator and reading a map is a great skill to learn even with our modern GPS technology. You never know when you will need that skill!
A raccoon teaches the basics of reading a variety of different kinds of maps, from road maps to weather maps and beyond.
And of course we have more books about road trips and summer vacations as well.
Enjoy your trips and vacations!
