Library Card Design Contest
America 250 Library Card
Purpose
In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, the St. Tammany Parish Library seeks to commemorate this year with a special anniversary card for patrons. The card will showcase the spirit of patriotism, the American Dream, and the importance of reading and community.
Theme
We are looking for designs that honor our nation's 250th anniversary and promotes patriotism.
Designs should:
- Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary
- Highlight library services
- Share the love for reading and learning
- Be appropriate for all ages
Guidelines
- All submissions must be original creative artwork by one individual.
- NO AI-generated artwork or AI-generated photography or any artwork that is not created by the submitter is allowed.
- One entry per patron. Must be a resident of St. Tammany Parish.
- Contest is for all ages.
- Design must be appropriate for all ages.
- Entry Forms can be downloaded here, opens a new window or a paper version can be acquired at a local STPL branch.
- If submitting a digital design:
- a vector file (.ai,.eps, .svg) - CMYK, 300 dpi and a size of 2 1/8 inches by 3 3/8 inches (2.125 in by 3.375 in).
- a raster file (.pdf, .png) - CMYK, 300 dpi, canvas size of 1986 px by 1250 px.
- A separate filled-out Library card design contest form (Design space is not intended for your digital design, please send artwork design as a separate file) must still be included with the submission. The design file with the submission form can be emailed to publicrelations@stpl.us.
- If submitting a digital design:
- Design submission must be submitted at a branch by April 27, 2026. (Digital submissions must be submitted by April 27, 2026 to publicrelations@stpl.us)
- By submitting an entry form, the submitter agrees to the Creative Design Release.
Judging
The top designs submitted (that have followed all guidelines) will be voted on by patrons like you.
Voting will take place inside branches and online from May 1 through May 7. The winner will be announced on May 11, 2026. Cards will be available for patrons in July.
Creative Design Release
I certify that the attached submission to the St. Tammany Parish Library Card Design Contest is my or my child’s own original creative work.
I give permission for St. Tammany Parish Library to reproduce creative works resulting from my (or my child’s) participation. I understand that the purpose is to promote the Library and its services/programs. I give permission with the following understanding: no compensation of any kind will be paid to me (or my child) at this time or in the future for the use of my (or my child’s) creative works. The St. Tammany Parish Library reserves the right to modify creative works resulting from my (or my child’s) participation to conform to the dimensions of the library card or to accommodate text. I may not use creative works resulting from my (or my child’s) participation in the STPL Card Design Contest for commercial purposes without the approval of the St. Tammany Parish Library.
Past Design Contest
In 2025, we held a 75th Anniversary Library Card contest. This limited-edition card was well-received at all of the branches by patrons.
