Mobile Library Branch
The Mobile Library came to fruition from Goal 3 of the Library's 2023 - 2028 Strategic Plan, opens a new window.
"Goal 3. The St. Tammany Parish Library will be a thriving, energetic community commons by complementing traditional library services with innovative new services, technology and digital resources."
Since February, the Mobile Library staff has partnered with COAST to provide Books-by-Mail to Meals on Wheels clients. The Mobile Library Branch Lobby Stop van was delivered in March and the branch began to visit COAST centers and assisted living centers in April of 2025."

Books by Mail is a free service offered to St. Tammany Parish residents who cannot visit in person at one of our library branches.
Items that can be requested:
- Large print and regular print books
- Magazines
- Audiobooks
- Playaways, opens a new window
- Music CDs
- DVDs
- Blu-Rays
How to receive Books by Mail:
- You must be a homebound resident of St. Tammany Parish.**
- You’ll fill out and send in our Books by Mail application. Contact the Mobile Branch for an application. OR you can fill out the application online., opens a new window
- Call (985) 837-2444, ext. 2400 or email mobile@stpl.us
- Library Materials will be mailed to you, postage paid in a nylon bag for you to enjoy.
- Once finished with your library materials, just place them back in the nylon bag, flip the card in the front pocket to our return address, and place them back in your mailbox.
**Homebound residents are those unable to travel to a physical branch due to medical limitations.**

No, late fees are waived for this service. However, new items cannot be checked out until the previous are returned.

The Lobby Stop Van started its first visits in April of 2025. Staff visit COAST centers, assisted living, and nursing homes to provide residents with a chance to view, browse, and check out books.
