Wit & Wrath: The Life & Times of Dorothy Parker

by Jillian Boudreaux, Adult Programming Coordinator

Celebrate Women’s History Month and see live theatre at the library!  There will be two performances of "Wit & Wrath" from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, at the Slidell Library, 555 Robert Blvd., and from 6-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, at the Madisonville Library, 1123 Main St. Doors open at 6 p.m. Shows begin at 6:30 p.m.

In "Wit & Wrath," Claudia Baumgarten, as Mrs. Parker, skewers, with martini in hand, her fellow writers of the Round Table, the Jazz Age, her romantic life and Hollywood.

Dorothy Parker was a wit, a social observer with an acid tongue, a biting critic of the rich and complacent, a compassionate advocate for the less fortunate and a brilliant writer in many genres - poetry, short stories, book and drama reviews and film scripts.

The events are free and open to the public. Seating space is limited to adults. Registration is recommended.  Register online or call the Slidell Library at (985) 646-6470 or the Madisonville Library at (985) 845-4819 to register.
