Take the Hour of Code Challenge!

Celebrate National Computer Science Education Week by taking the Hour of Code Challenge!  The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in 180+ countries.  Through the Hour of Code anyone ages 4 to 104 can learn computer coding basics by creating games, making music, and animating with Blocks, Scratch, Javascript, and more!  One-hour tutorials are available in over 45 languages. No experience needed. 

This December, Hour of Code events are offered at the Causeway, Covington, and Slidell Branches. These events require registration.  Please click the links below for more information.

Causeway Branch Library Lab IV: Hour of Code December 7, 2017 4:30pm 
Covington Branch Hour of Code December 9, 2017 2:30pm - 3:30pm
Slidell Branch Hour of Code December 6, 2017 3:00pm - 4:00pm & 4:00pm - 5:00pm

If you're not able to attend one of these library-facilitated events, Hour of Code icons are saved on the desktop of all STPL public computers so you can code at your convenience!  Or, take the Hour of Code Challenge from home by visiting the Hour of Code website.
