Bastille Day Lecture

Ryan Martin will discuss the storming of the Bastille from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 11, at the Slidell Branch. Bastille Day, a national day of celebration in France, is the anniversary of storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, a turning point of the French Revolution, as well as the Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of the French people a year later.

Martin is a teacher at Northshore Technical Community College and has a deep passion for all things history.
