The Friends of the Slidell Library are generously sponsoring four concerts on the east side of St. Tammany Parish. Each concert will begin at 6 p.m. The series will feature two outdoor concerts and two indoor concerts.
- The Spring Chickens, a bluegrass band will perform on Wednesday, September 18th in the backyard of the Pearl River Branch, 64580 Hwy. 41, Pearl River (with a rain date of September 25th).
- The Jump Hounds, a jazz-based rhythm and blues band, will perform on Wednesday, October 2nd in the side yard of the Lacombe Branch, 28027 Hwy. 190, Lacombe (with a rain date of October 9th).
- Samuel Wheelock will play modern electric folk music on Tuesday, October 15th in the meeting room of the South Slidell Branch, 3901 Pontchartrain Drive.
- Callie Hines, an Americana/folk artist, will play on Tuesday, October 22nd in the meeting room of the Slidell Branch, 555 Robert Blvd.
The events are free and open to the public. Bring your own seating and food to the outdoor concerts. The rain dates will be used if inclement weather prohibits the band from performing outdoors. Seating will be provided for the indoor concerts. Light refreshments are provided for all concerts.
