Library To Host Two Genealogy Programs

The summer is the perfect time for genealogy hobbyists to learn new research tricks. That’s why the St. Tammany Parish Library will be hosting two genealogy programs this summer!

Preserving the Path, Service to Others: Daughters of the American Revolution will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 11th at the Covington Branch, 310 W. 21st Ave.  Members from the Pierre de Mandeville and Wharton Chapters of St. Tammany Parish will give an overview of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), a lineage group for individuals whose ancestors either contributed or fought in the American Revolutionary War.  Attendees will learn about the requirements for membership and how to prove your lineage in order to meet qualifications.  Assistance will be given on filling out required applications and members will answer any questions about DAR.

Are you stumped? Don’t know how to proceed with your research? Then join us for Ask the Experts! The St. Tammany Parish Genealogical Society will host Ask the Experts from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 14th at the Covington Branch, 310 W 21st Ave. This program will provide a thirty-minute session with an expert genealogists to help attendees with their research. Registration will begin mid-June.
