Introducing Our Teen Totes Book Subscription Service!

by Jennifer Rifino, Teen Services Coordinator

Have you heard about book subscription services like OwlCrate or Once Upon a Book Club?  For a monthly fee, these services send you a package containing a book and a few treats to go along with it.

The St. Tammany Parish Library Teen Department is now offering this fun service - but for FREE!

If you are in grade 7 to 12, you can sign up each month to get a themed Teen Tote with books and treats selected by your friendly teen librarians from your choice between two monthly themes.

Here’s how it works:

  • If you would like to get one of these boxes, you must sign up online between the 20th to the 28th of each month.  This is not an ongoing subscription - sign up each month to receive your tote and skip any month when you don’t want one.
  • The Teen Librarians will choose two teen books from the library's collection that we think you’ll love for that month's theme and put it in a tote with some fun swag, including a book for you to keep!  There will also be a mandatory Response Card with quick, easy questions about the box that we will ask you to answer and return with the books.
  • You can pick your tote up starting the 1st of the month from the STPL branch of your choice and it will be checked out with your library card.  You will have until the 10th of the month to pick up your tote.
  • When you’re done with the two library books, please return them along with the Response Card to the library by the due date.  The rest of the tote’s contents are yours to keep!

Teen Totes are available on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last.  Totes not picked up by the 10th of the month will go to those on the waiting list.
