National Library Week Brings Food for Fines

by Shellie Lister, Public Relations Librarian

The library will again join public libraries across the country in celebrating National Library Week with two weeks of Food for Fines from Monday, April 8 to Thursday, April 18.

Each non-perishable food item donated will be worth $1 of fine forgiveness. Donated food will be given to our partnering food banks: the Northshore Food Bank in Covington, the Samaritan Center Food Bank in Mandeville and the First Baptist Church of Slidell Food Bank.

National Library Week celebrates the power of public libraries to transform lives and communities by providing free access to technology, career development resources and the skills to help people thrive in the digital age.
