Teen Donates Books To The Library

by Jennifer Rifino, Teen Services Coordinator

Fourteen year-old Susannah Donoghue recently donated 5 copies of the 2014 children’s book All Different Now: Juneteenth, the First Day of Freedom by award-winning author Angela Johnson to the library.

In light of recent demonstrations and BLM activism, Donoghue wanted to do something to support the movement. She came up with the idea of making and selling bracelets to raise money to purchase books to donate to our library system.

Donoghue, an avid reader, library user and participator in the Teen Department's events, “went on Amazon to find books that had good reviews. I decided on this book because there weren’t many books on that subject in the library and I liked that it had a lot of good reviews.”

Sounds like a future-librarian-in-the-making to us!

Thank you, Susannah for your contributions; the library appreciates you!
