The Covington Branch of the St. Tammany Parish Library Re-opens Thursday, September 9, 2021
COVINGTON- The Covington Branch of the St. Tammany Parish Library will re-open Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 9 a.m. Like the three other open branches, Covington will close at 5p.m. Patrons will have access to electricity for charging devices and cooling off in the air conditioning. Phones, faxes, and internet are unavailable at this time at the Covington Branch. The book drop is available and items are available for check out. Patrons are asked to use the parking lot behind the Library with an entrance located on W. 22nd Avenue, as the parking lot entrance on North Jackson Street is inaccessible.
The Slidell, Causeway, and Mandeville branches of the St. Tammany Parish Library opened Tuesday, September 7, 2021. These branches remain open from 9 a.m. – 5p.m. through Friday. Patrons are welcome to visit these locations to use the telephones, copy machines, and utilize electricity to charge their devices and cool off in the air conditioning. Patrons should call the open branch location they plan to visit to inquire about the availability of fax services. All branches are still awaiting the restoration of internet services. Book drops for these locations will be available. Patrons will be able to check items out in the open branches. Digital collections are available. Fines are not being charged at this time. Open branches will have limited staff. All scheduled events are cancelled through September 12, 2021.
The remainder of the St. Tammany Parish Library branches are being assessed daily. St. Tammany Parish Library administration is waiting on available staff, the return of power, the restoration of the internet, and the repair to the damage of the Madisonville Branch to fully reopen all branches.
