Learn About Food Across America with A to Z Food America

by Noelle Williams, Reference Services Coordinator

When I think of South Louisiana, I think of good food. It’s great to know that your part of the United States has a unique culinary culture. That’s why I’m excited about the library’s new resource, A to Z Food America.

This online tool contains more than 2,000 state, regional, and ethnic recipes—including food culture articles—as well as a farmer’s market finder and an ingredients section. You’ll discover how to make salad from the South, appetizers from Alaska, and Dutch inspired desserts with your library card!

Food America also offers historical cookbooks, food trivia, and historical timelines for those interested in the history of American cuisine.
